USDA later today is expected to report another strong gain in U.S. planting progress last week. As of May 29, 66% of the soybean crop was planted, up from 50% a week earlier and one percentage point behind the five-year average. Still, planting in Minnesota and North Dakota remains behind schedule and overall crop emergence lags normal.
